okay, i'm sorry for not updating for so long!

been really busy with work, plus my beloved brother is now over here in Hong Kong to visit, so my schedule is like packed with annoying work and messy brother. not to forget that computer freak is using the laptop at night, which is the only time i'm free to update. oh, my room is a mess now to the point that i feel very tempted to kick my brother out. HAHA. just kidding. he keeps saying i'm leading a begger life because of my DIY stuffs like clothes hangers and comb box. hahaha. please lor, i'm so independent now ok! can make use of many rubbish and transform them into useful items. hoho. throw me in a jungle and i might be able to survive.

so, yes, i'm still alive and kicking. weather is unpredictable, can get really cold at times but these 2 days had been bearable. i have lots of pictures to post, but too little time to do it. maybe i will be updating quality stuffs on saturday. hehe, off day rocks my socks.

hotel occupancy getting lower and lower. getting more and more relaxed at work, but standing long hours make me feel so tired. night is getting longer and day is getting shorter, making me very lethargic at work. had spoken to my manager about transferring me to call taker role. hopefully i can learn new things by mid dec.

okay, time to sleep. working at 12pm tmr. OH, BTW, i feel so hongkong-ish now because i am now taking buses to work instead of the touristy mtr. HOHO. (even though i took the wrong bus once and landed up in Happy Valley 跑马地 and had to rush to four seasons hotel on a cab.)

i'm sorry but i don't understand. maybe someone else out there in your circle can do a better job than me. why not you fail me now and we can just get over it and don't hassle with all that waiting for enlightenment.

how true. so, lingwei accompanied me to a local HK cafe at 2am in the morning, and spent 2 hours sitting there, helping me think of possible reasons why it happened and who should be responsible and who is in the wrong.

my head was throbbing in pain after the meet up session plus supper. too much to think, too much to solve. and not to forget the guilt of eating luncheon meat, chicken wings and club sandwiches at 2am in the morning. took a cab back and only managed to sleep at 5am.

and just when i was about to get over it and chuck the issue under the 'unsolvable mysteries' like i do every other time , that person forgot sth ytd again. ah, then only i realised that the bin is over flowing.

i can imagine life next time when work stress starts to get overwhelming for that person, and i'm gonna be so wasted like these few weeks for the rest of my life.

i just received patrick's letter from beijing. and i am very very very very angry. it's so unfair to them. can you believe it, how poor the embassy of china is handling their visas? this incident has definitely changed my mindset about how successful they were in organizing the Olympics. such screw ups without an explanation? and what is the bloody hotel doing? they actually didn't inform patrick and gang about the visa problem and poor girls have to try to get information through rumours and hearsays? so do your guests get their room confirmation through hearsays too? that's ultimate craziness. and how irresponsible everyone is! now the poor girls who invested money into their internship, buying insurance, buying winter clothes, trying their best to get use to the environment, but guess what. they are flying back to singapore on 13th Nov.

i'm not used to the weather man. it just suddenly dropped, and i'm so caught unprepared.

waking up is a nightmare. the floor is so cold. the tap water is so cold. the toilet seat is so cold. everything is so cold. and my apartment don't have a heater. ohmygod. walking on toes.

jean said the shiokest thing to do during winter is to eat ice cream. =/ i'm abit skeptical about it. what if my internal organs freeze and malfunction? hahaha. 死在异乡。。。choi choi.

like waking up is a nightmare, walking home after work at 1am in the morning is also a 2x nightmare. i can hear the wind howling, i can hear my teeth clattering, i can hear ice cubes forming inside my brain. ahhhhh.

yesterday was really busy at work. orders non-stop for us. i was in charge of four seasons place's orders. (four seasons place is a serviced apartment, a connecting building at the side of four seasons hotel) imagine how many times i need to walk and run to send orders, collect orders, pick up used trolleys from rooms, ask guest feedbacks, send orders again, collect orders again and again and again and again... at the end of the night (or should i say the beginning of the morning), when the overall sales report was out, i rushed to ask emily how many covers were there for the place.

20. which means i SENT 20 orders. not including i must x2 since i need to pick up the used ones from guest rooms, which makes 40. and not to include the amenities i sent, which is 5. so i walked to and fro from my dept to four seasons place 45 times. thinking that was it? no. my duties also require me to send hotel orders everytime there is a pause in four seasons place's order. EVEN IF IT IS A MINI PAUSE, they will push me inside the hotel lift and make me send hotel orders.

plus... i need to set up 60 breakfast trolleys for the next shift.

oh, and having a goon goon assistant manager on duty yesterday seriously made the whole situation worse.

yeah, so i went crazy last night. and i got screamed at by a guest. but it was normal because the guest in that room is abnormal. it happens all the time, no matter to who. so i'm not offended. i am more amused by her outburst. like, my first thought was 'got so serious meh?' haha. can't elaborate.

oh yeah, the weather in HK went crazyyyyy yesterday. the temperature just plunged down to 20 degree celsius at night. it was 26 to 27 degree celsius the day before! so i was freezing on the streets of mongkok. hahha. but temp now is so shiok. hoho.

NO SHORTS for sleeping, too cold at night for that. bring socks too. i'll try to request leaving early so i can pick you up at the airport. (i seriously don't think you can get to HK mtr station yourself, given that you don't know how to speak canto, how the hell you gonna buy octopus card). and please get a map at the airport racks. do some basic research at home before coming, don't be goon goon. love you.

okay. many things to say since i didn't update for so long.

first of all, there was an intruder in my apartment on tues midnight - a freaking ugly lizard. jean and i were both screaming while trying to knock the lizard off the wall with a feather duster. jean made a very brave attempt to get near it so as to make a more accurate throw but ended up screaming her head off when the lizard moved its tail. GOD. damn gross ok.

'omg omg. get off my winnie the pooh!' 'shit shit, it's going downwards!' 'oiii, i opened the window for you already! go out and enjoy the breeze lah! why stay indoors, so humid...'

the above was the monologue that jean was engaging with the lizard. so funny.

oh oh, and ytd was photo time for in-room dining. haha.


the guy on the extreme left is Ocean. He is a super gentle guy who love to spend on us. hahah. he will buy supper for us everyday! but you can see a pattern in his supper-buying activity. At the beginning of the month, the supper will be all very expensive like sushi, sashimi. Then it will slowly change to MacDonalds. Closer to the end of the month, he will give us kinder bueno chocolate. At the end of the month, he will start to kop pastries, lobster fried rice, scones for us from the pastry and hot kitchen. hahaha! die also must feed us. a very nice person to work with.

next is flora! my favourite girl in the department. she is also a trainee so she can totally understand my feelings when i got upset sometimes. (they ALWAYS make use of trainees) very helpful and very enthu person. she was the one who helped me apply a HK library card when i told her i love to read. SO NICE RIGHT! and she is also a good baker, so she will bake winnie the pooh cookies for me. hahaha! she also knows that i love to eat and i can never be full, so she always kop food for me from chefs. hahaha. i think she can write a book on 101 ways to kop food from chefs. oh, and she is not girly at all. very macho, can lift very heavy things, so she always help me when i can't handle.

hoho, the man beside me is the man i fear and respect the most. JERRY the captain. haha. he is from philppines. a very serious and hardworking man who can really organise and lead people well. i like to work with him because things will always go smoothly. but it can get a little bit stressful at times because he is very serious! i guess that explains why i look so stiff beside him. hahahha.

danny the big big daddy. hahaha. he is one of my favourite assistant manager. very funny and easy-going guy. he can speak good mandarin! (: and he also love to secretly eat food in pantry. hahaha.

oh, Hari came up with a joke today while he was cleaning the hotbox. he said 'in-room dying' instead of 'in-room dining'. Hari is a Nepalese. I like him alot because he is one of the hardworking and helpful guys in the dept and because he address me by 'shuhan' instead of 'adeline'. He said 'shuhan' sound nicer and i agree with him. a rare gem indeed.

and my hands are getting so rough that i think i can scratch a piece of glass by sliding my palm over it.

my colleagues got a new nickname for me - 'elderly'. why? because they can't pronounce 'adeline'.

i realised my colleagues got a funny way of speaking. they will try to lengthen their sentences to make it sound so pro. for example:

'you collect your pay slip from the 10th floor, above the 9th floor, accounting office already?'

i met a damn rude guest today. he kopped my wine opener. i'm gonna kop someone else's tomorrow.
